Q. What is the procedure if I want to use this service and what are the fees? ............... A. You need to register your details on line and you will be sent an email to confirm the same. You will then receive the appropriate documents to sign and return together with a fee of £10 payable by cheque to be posted to the Administrator. The charges are £10 for 3 months usage - renewals will need to be paid by standing order, details of which must be provided on the signed documents with your first cheque. On-line payments by PayPal will be made available in 2008.

Q. How quickly will my profile be activated?
A. Upon processing of the signed registration documents your account will be activated within 3 to 4 working days and you will receive an email to confirm that you are activated and able to use the system.

Q. Who will have access to the profile data?
A. The administrators and the project manager will have access to data. The Lohana Community United Kingdom committee members will be managing the Administrators but will not have access to data. Confidentiality is a priority. We are registered under the Data Protection Act 1998 and all details held for you by us can be requested under the Freedom of Information Act - please email datacontrol@LohanaMatchmaker.com for more details.

Q. How much data will be seen by the general public?
A. The system will generate a profile list and display data that will have limited amount of information. You cannot be identified or contacted via this limited data however the information will be such that one is able to make an informed choice on potential suitability.

Q. How will you make sure that profiles are genuine?
A. The first payment will have to be made by the registered person's own cheque. You will also be able to confirm the identity by checking with the Lohana Mahajan concerned. Before meeting a person one should carry out their own checks as necessary, only meet in safe public places and advise a family member or friend of the meeting.

Q. Is the system for use in the UK only?
A. Initially we will restrict the use of the site by UK Lohanas only so that we can establish the operational procedures and iron out any shortfalls that may arise. The website technically does not have geographical barriers and after the launch in the UK, all Lohanas around the world will be able to use the site and benefit from it. We the LCUK will be promoting the website to other Lohana Mahajans.

Q. How many profiles will I be able to contact at any one time?
A. We have set a limit of three that one can contact at a time. It is our belief that it would be difficult to manage more and as a matchmaking service it is our policy to encourage prompt decision making. Our final objective is remove as many names as possible with positive outcomes.

Q. What if I see a profile that I think may be suitable for someone else I know?
A. You can forward the brief details to the person who you think may be interested. This you will be able to do by sending an email whilst on the website. This will prompt the person who receives such an email to visit the LohanaMatchmaker website and register if they wish to progress with the choice.

Q. What facilities are there to help manage profiles that I am interested in?
A. You will be able to add all profiles of interest to your Favourites page. There is no limit to the number of favourites. Similarly if you have seen profiles and have chosen not to pursue further then you will be able to block those profiles. All profiles that you are actively engaged with will appear on your Prospectives page. You are allowed a maximum of 3 such profiles at any one time.

Q. What is the procedure if I like a profile?
A. You will request online for further details of the profile. The profile will be sent your full details, together with a request to release their full details which will be sent to you if they agree. On receipt of the full details you will be able to make contact. These processes will all happen automatically by email so there will be no human involvement in this. If however a profile does not respond within 2 weeks then please contact Admin who will contact the profile and respond to you. If the profile rejects your request online then you will be notified and both party's profiles will be blocked from each other. The same will happen if one profile has decided to end the dialogue at any time.

Q. What happens if a profile has given false information or acted in an improper manner?
A. We consider both of these as serious issues. We at LohanaMatchmaker.com take this very seriously as this kind of behaviour is wrong, misleading and will affect the credibility of our service. You will be able report this at the site, by reporting misbehaviour. If proven, such person will be banned from using the website.

Q. What happens if you have a complaint about the website or its operation?
A. We are serious about the website and therefore a full complaints procedure is in place which is open, transparent and with clear guidelines for its mode of operation. In short any complaint will be independently addressed to bring about a prompt and a satisfactory resolution. The guidelines are such that it will be sympathetic to you the end user and fair to all parties.
